Four DMV players earned spots at USA Rugby's Women's U18 national team camps this summer. Adelina Jackson and Paige Rasnake of North Bay Rugby and Jayelle Jones and Anna Vojta of the Virginia Outcasts were among 37 athletes selected for the U18 East Development Camp in July, led by U18 head coach Sue Whitwell — and held on home soil at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Jackson's summer didn't end there: in August she was one of just 29 athletes from 12 states called into the Women's U18 7s Summer Camp at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in California, the only DMV player selected. The camps sit at the top of USA Rugby's girls pathway, which starts with open-entry Talent ID Days — a Washington, DC date is expected to be announced — and runs through regional development days to national camp selection. Vienna Rugby has announced the official relaunch of its high school girls rugby team — and, for the first time in the program's history, a middle school girls team. The Virginia Outcasts, one of the leading teams in the area, have joined Vienna and integrated their squad into the club, giving the relaunched program a full high school roster from day one; the middle school side is now being built. Led by head coach Pat Morin, the Vienna Girls will compete in the EGRL and the Chesapeake Conference. Members of last year's senior class committed to play for universities such as Harvard, Penn State, and Virginia Tech, and Outcasts players have been selected for the EIRA Ireland tour and to attend USA Eagles U18 camp, and have played with development and select-side programs including Young Glory, Rugby Advantage, the Atlanta Valkyries, and Atlantis. The combined North Bay / Virginia Outcasts squad went 3–1 at the 14th Annual Gonzaga Rugby Classic, held April 25–26 at George Washington Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia. Doylestown beat them in the Saturday opener — though the loss came with a notable distinction: North Bay / Outcasts scored the only try Doylestown conceded all weekend (the 7 in Doylestown's 154–7 tournament aggregate). They followed with a Saturday win over the NoVa Vipers (score not yet confirmed), then Sunday wins of 80–0 over the South Carolina Barbarians and 19–7 over the Raleigh Redhawks. Doylestown took the overall girls title, going unbeaten through the tournament. Virginia Outcasts captain Jayelle Jones has announced her commitment to Harvard University women's rugby. The blindside flanker (#6) was a standout on the 2026 Italy tour, named Player of the Match in the victory over Villorba. The DMV Touring Squad — drawn from North Bay (MD), Virginia Outcasts, Maryland Valkyries, and Corning Rugby Club (NY) — spent spring break competing in northern Italy, organized by Jeff Adamczyk through the Northern Chesapeake Rugby Foundation. After a brutal travel day (missed Munich connection, long bus ride), the squad lost their opening match against a Lombardy Select XV in Mantova. They bounced back to beat Parabiago 34–21, then ASD Villorba Rugby 34–10. Villorba are no ordinary opponent — they are Italy's reigning Serie A Elite women's champions and 2024/25 Conference Cup winners at European club level. The squad also trained on Benetton Rugby's professional pitch in Treviso and attended a URC match (Benetton vs Cardiff) that same evening. Full article coming soon.
